Summary / Abstract:

ENThe review presents a monograph published in Vilnius in 2013. The book under review is important for studies of history, cultural history, identity of the Russian ethnic group in Lithuania in the last 100 years. Articles written in Russian and Lithuanian by historians G. Potashenko, A. Marcinkevičius, literary critic P. Lavrinets, sociologist M. Freyute-Rakauskene provide detailed analysis of complex processes of formation of the modern ethnic group of Russian in Lithuania which is heterogeneous in historical memory, views, ideology, and, being the third largest ethnic group in Lithuania (almost 6%), plays a prominent role in today’s society. Keywords: Russian ethnic group in Lithuania; Russian culture in Lithuania; collective memory and identity of the Russians in Lithuania.
