Summary / Abstract:

ENThe purpose of this paper is to analyze the key indicators of transportation companies, with emphasis on turnover of enterprises, in the former Eastern Bloc countries of Europe, the Baltic (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) and eight CEE (Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Slovakia) states, or of new European Union (EU) states before and after the economic crisis. We will look at how the economic crisis has affected the turovers of transportation companies. We will analyse the changes in the companies. These companies will be compared to other EU states. What are the lessons learned from the economic crisis? We present for discussion the objective and subjective factors of the economic crisis of the companies. Based on this and previous publications, we will offer a number of generalized suggestions. Keywords: Baltic and CEE countries, transportation, enterprises, turnover, economic crisis, suggestions.
