LTKnygoje nagrinėjami Vilniaus imperatoriškojo universiteto (1803–1832) mokslinės informacijos poreikiai, tyrimų infrastruktūra, represinės cenzūros apraiškos ir bendruomenės lūkesčiai atveriant Europos mokslo žiniją. Imperinę visa apimančios kontrolės realybę, kurioje XVIII a. pabaigoje atsidūrė Vilniaus universitetas, atspindi „informacijos gniaužtų“ terminas. Tyrimu atskleista, kaip XIX a. pradžioje universitetas buvo įtrauktas į Rusijos imperijos mokslo infosferą. Kartu skaitytojas knygoje ras publikuojamą archyvinį šaltinį, atskleidžiantį knygų ir kitų mokymo priemonių dovanojimų tipologiją ir dinamiką, aktualizuojantį atminties institucijose saugomas senojo Vilniaus universiteto vertybes. Mokslo istorijos ir paveldo studijų problematiką aprėpiantis tarpdalykinis darbas papildo XIX a. Lietuvos istorijos ir kultūros, Vilniaus universiteto, knygos ir skaitymo istorijos tyrimus.
ENThe book examines the scholarly information needs of Vilnius Imperial University (1803–1832), its research infrastructure, the repressive censorship that the University was facing, and the community expectations when opening up to the European scientific knowledge. the reality of the Empire involved all-encompassing control, in which Vilnius University found itself at the end of the 18th century. This is reflected by the term ‘information clutches’. the research revealed how the University was getting incorporated in the scientific information sphere of the Russian Empire in the early 19th century. the reader will also be presented a published archival source revealing the typology and dynamics of the donations of printed and any other teaching aids, which brings us back to the values of the ‘old’ Vilnius University still preserved in the contemporary memory institutions. This interdisciplinary work embracing the history of science and heritage studies complements the Lithuanian body of studies of history and culture, the path of development of Vilnius University, along with the history of book and reading.
