ENThe aim of the article is to evaluate the fundamental changes of the "Mobility Package", which have the biggest impact on the activities of transport companies. The "Mobility Package" is a revolution in the transport industry that has been proclaimed for many years and is intended to fundamentally change the European Transport and Logistics Section adopted by the European Commission ( EC), the European Parliament (EP) and the Council of Europe. These rules governing commercial road transport activities were adopted in July 2020 and are included in the Posting Directive. The entry into force of the "Mobility Package" has a transitional period of one and a half years. It is implemented in stages. The aim of the changes is to strike a balance between driver safety and a sustainable economy. The aim of the study is to carry out assessment of the essential changes to the "Mobility Package", which have an impact on the activities of transport companies. The survey participants include companies providing transport services in Alytus city. The companies participating in the study are engaged in various cargo transportation, transportation by both local and international routes, as well as most companies which perform forwarding services, and other services related to transport and logistics.A questionnaire was used to conduct the investigation. From a theoretical point of view, the article analyses fundamental changes, that will have the greatest impact on both carriers and drivers. Having analysed fundamental changes in the activities of transport companies of the "Mobility Package", it can be concluded that the return of the truck within eight weeks to the country where it is registered will have the biggest negative impact, as well as negatively evaluated another change: carriers cannot perform cabotage operations 4 days after the end of the old cabotage operation, which is viewed negatively by as many as 68% of respondents. The change that has the least negative impact on the activities of transportation companies is the changes in the crossing the border. An analysis of the financial impact of the "Mobility Package" on companies clearly shows that all costs will increase significantly, especially transport, work organization and wage costs.
