Koronaviruso pandemijos (COVID-19) metu patiriamas stresas tapo viena opiausių ir aktualiausių problemų, o patiriamo streso poveikis profesinėse veiklose tampa viena iš pagrindinių nagrinėjamų temų. ENThe aim of the final work is to study the stress experienced by nurses at work and the ways to overcome it. Stress is a part of the daily lives of healthcare professionals such as nurses, doctors, hospital administrators as they carry a huge responsibility in providing assistance to patients facing life crises. The work of nurses is an important part of the Lithuanian health system. The theoretical part of the work analyzes the concept of stress, its causes and consequences, the stress experienced by nurses at work and the ways to overcome it. The aim of the research was to examine the opinion of working nurses about the stress experienced at work, to determine the factors causing it and the ways to overcome it. The survey was conducted in November 2021, using an anonymous questionnaire. The study involved 40 subjects, with an estimated response rate of 91 %. After the investigation. about the stress experienced by nurses at work, it was found that nurses often experience stress at work and rate their work as difficult and physically stressed. Nurses said the stress could last for hours or an entire day until the end of work. Nurses who have experienced stress at work always try to stay calm, often trying to divert their thoughts and not think about it. Sometimes he becomes irritable and nervous, sometimes he does not want to communicate with anyone, wants to be alone or becomes conflicted with colleagues. The study found that stress in nurses ’work is associated with psychological and physical changes. Nurses often experience shoulder and back pain, constant tension and sleep disturbances, feel anxiety and exhaustion, headaches and increased rhythm.The results of this study revealed that nurses are most stressed by despair when they are unable to help a patient who is not recovering from stress due to COVID-19 – high risk of infection and conflicting patients, lack of resources and staff, high responsibilities, high documentation and low pay. A study of coping with stress revealed that nurses need a psychologist at work. They said that support from colleagues and family and psychotherapy sessions would help reduce stress at work. The negative effects of stress at work are reduced by nurses' time spent in nature and with family, relaxing while cooking and browsing the internet, spending time with friends or watching TV, listening to their favorite activities or listening to music, reading a book / newspaper or sleeping.
