After the systematic, logical analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, this article reveals the connection of Industry 4.0 with the importance of smart technologies, reviews smart technologies and their application possibilities in logistics, and presents the practice of applying logistics innovations in world leading companies. The analysis of scientific literature allowed to single out the following main smart technologies used in logistics companies: GPS system and Internet, big data, Internet of Things, RFID, artificial intelligence, telematics systems, etc. The methods and principles of operation of these technologies are used in the activities of logistics companies to modernize logistics processes and supply chains. The use of smart technologies in business practices reduces or eliminates unnecessary operations, makes processes smarter and clearer, reduces labor requirements, minimizes paperwork, improves productivity, changes the way information is accessed and processed, improves analysis and control mechanisms, increases profits, and is one of the main guarantors of rapid growth and development.
