Summary / Abstract:

ENThe article is concerned with one of the episodes in the struggle between the republicans and the Sapiehas in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, namely Lithuanian High Tribunal elections and this highest court’s activity in 1700. As the result of the elections republicans gained a narrow majority and the Grand Chancellor of Lithuania Karol Stanisław Radziwiłł, who had been expected to be appointed Marshal of the Tribunal, became one of the deputies.
