Badania nad zarządem i eksploatacją zasobów wodnych domeny wielkoksiążęcej w Wielkim Księstwie Litewskim w świetle wydanych akt Metryki Litewskiej (do końca XVI w.)
ENThe main subject of this article is an attempt to capture the opportunities for researchers interested in the management and exploitation of river and lake waters in grand-ducal property of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania until the end of the sixteenth century off ered by the published acts of the Lithuanian Metrica. While researching the management and exploitation of water resources of Lithuanian grand-ducal properties for the chronological scope adopted in the article, it is important to construct a broad historical and geographic context. In addition to reconstructing the political, legal and administrative conditions shaping the rules and principles of their operating, at least a sketch of economically signifi cant elements of their geographic environment is necessary. This is not an easy task, as source material for this period is enigmatic and, above all, scanty. For this reason, the published acts of the Lithuanian Metrica make perfect source material for this subject.
