Współpraca bilateralna policji Polski i Litwy (w świetle umów i porozumień)

ENThe article concerns cooperation between the Polish and Lithuanian police. The fi rst part synthetically describes the conditions of cooperation between the European Union countries in the fi eld of internal security and police cooperation. The formation of legal institutions for cooperation of European Union countries in the fi eld of security was indicated. The next part, entitled “Conditions for cooperation between the Polish and Lithuanian police within Schengen,” presents issues related to the legal basis for cooperation of Polish police with other countries’ police, information exchange and instruments of cross-border police cooperation in the Schengen area. In the third part of the study, in a chronological order, agreements and other bilateral documents that gave the legal basis and the possibility of effective police cooperation between neighboring countries were presented. The ranges, forms and methods of interaction that arise from the documents are discussed.
