ENThe first Nida lighthouse, a prominent symbol of the industrial age not only in the Curonian Spit, but also throughout the Curonian Lagoon region, was exactly 70 years old: at the end of 1944, units o f the German Army detached the lighthouse to bombard it with severe damage. The lighthouse equipment on the remains of the old lighthouse functioned for a while, and the new Nida lighthouse appeared in 1951-1953. According to Jurgis Bučas, he was built about 70 meters east of the base of the old lighthouse. This lighthouse is already in another shape, other parameters, which means another part of the history of the Nida Lighthouse. [From the publication]
