ENThe appearance and development of religion in Vileyka district can be traced on the basis of archive and local materials, as well as on the basis of myths and legends. The author tells about the most ancient temples in the villages of Dolginovo, Kasuta, Hanuta, about the initial location of the School of Budslav Madonna in Dolginovo, about the connections with this region of such people as Tomash Zan, Frantishek and Michaił Cleofas Aginsky, the hetman of Ukraine Pilip Orlik and others. The litigation between the representatives of various confessions for the temple in the ancient estate of Hanuta that lasted for almost 70-years is shown.
