Summary / Abstract:

ENThe aim of the article "Sacral areas of the Eastern Lithuania: the research experience" by Vitautas Vaytkyavichus (Vilnius) is to get the reader acquainted with some common features of the sacred (sacral) places in the eastern Lithuania. The study of the pre-Christian sacred places in Lithuania began already in the 1990's in the western part of Lithuania. The monuments of the Eastern Lithuania (the ethnographical region of Aukshaytiya) began to be studied recently.
