Summary / Abstract:

ENAfter the restoration of independence in 1990 Vilnius Gediminas technical university was one of the first universities in Lithuania, which implement a three-stage study system. In 1991-1995 other Lithuanian university higher education institutions implemented the most important part of the study reform, i.e. they redesign the study programmes into a three-stage BSc-MSc-DS system (4-2-4 year). The autonomy higher education institutions in Lithuania and the limits of its regulation are determined by the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania, by laws and the statutes of higher education schools. The studies in the first study stage of the Civil engineering faculty are organised according to 6 Bachelor's degree programs and in the second study stage are organised according to 8 Master's degree programmes. The Civil engineering faculty on the basis of the State and university Regulations and Guidelines and international experience redesign all Construction Engineering Study Programme.
