Summary / Abstract:

ENIn 1991 Lithuania restored Independence and began accession at European Union. One of the steps was to sign on Bologna Declaration and to start the High School reform. Today the system of three levels is used for preparing specialists of technological direction: base studies (academic and professional), specialized professional studies, Master's degree studies and Doctorate degree studies. All civil engineering students in the base bachelor's studies must get the base knowledge about geotechnical and structures. The bachelor which had gotten base education in civil engineering can choose future graduate studies, independent from specialization. In this paper we analyze the similarities and differences of base studies program in civil engineering studies in VGTU depending on time that is given for geotechnical and structural courses.
