ENThe article aims to evaluate respect and its expression from tire point of view of Thomistic, Evolution and Family ethics. It gives short historical data on the three forms of family which have a direct reference to respect. The article explores the genesis of elementary forms of respect from the "sensitive soul" and the genesis of minimal and exceptional forms of respect from the "intellectual soul". In conclusion, the author distinguishes three tendencies in the development of respect. The first tendency: from instinctive respect in which people are afraid of aggression to "intellectual" respect in which attention is fixed to value. The second: from an outward refined expression of respect full of humiliation to a less refined expression showing one's self value. The third: from the respect for the "exceptional" man (e. g., white, male, the most powerful or the oldest) to respect for the person from the moment of conception.
