LTMonografijoje keliama problema: kuo remiantis tobulinti muzikinį ugdymą mokykloje, kad muzikos pažinimas joje labiau suartintų mokinį su dvasinėmis vertybėmis, aukštąja muzika ir tuo būdu padėtų spręsti svarbiausią uždavinį - brandinti jo meninę-dvasinę kultūrą. Ieškant atsakymo nagrinėjami filosofiniai, psichologiniai, pedagoginiai, muzikologiniai klausimai, nuo kurių sprendimo gali priklausyti vertingos muzikos pripažinimas ir supratimas bei asmens dvasinės, dorovinės, tautinės kultūros branda.
ENEducational research shows that beauty, goodness, religiousness and other spiritual values, in the eyes of the students, are almost in the last place of the value scales; the research shows that the prestige of these values is not growing, but decreasing (Aramavičiūtė, 2005; Martišauskienė, 2004, 2011). There are a lot of cases of offensiveness, rudeness, mocking and dependencies in schools. This is making the society concerned, thus it is important to look for preventative means to decrease the manifestation of evil in schools. This task may be helped, along by other factors, by developing music education as artistic-spiritual education. A relevant problem arises: What are the philosophical, psychological, musical and educational implications and possibilities in schools? The provision of Education concept (1992) also shows the necessity to reorient education towards a change of persona culture. This means that schools must not submit to the tendency to go with the flow of the degrading mass culture; schools must go above the existing cultural environment (Lukšienė, 1993). Research hypothesis. The authors seek to use the research to prove that by purposefully choosing and using the high (brilliant) music and its artistic-spiritual potential, by applying relevant music education strategy and didactical tactics, it is possible to successfully improve the pupils’ spiritual maturity and with that their moral culture and strengthen the national identity. This means that schools can and have to help to bring each pupil closer to the highest quality music and achieve the goal "Perfect music - for everyone". It is important to help the students increase their spiritual capabilities, compassion culture, musical and general intellect through love for music and this way to seek "positive changes in moral culture".
