Kritikas romantizmo spąstuose

LTStraipsnyje keliamas klausimas, kodėl Vytautui Kubiliui rūpėjo romantizmo literatūros tyrinėjimai ir kodėl jis domėjosi romantizmo tradicija ir likimu dabartinėje literatūroje. Iškeltam klausimui pasiūlomi keli atsakymai. Teigiama, kad romantizmo literatūra, suvokta ne tik kaip rašymo, bet ir mąstymo, gyvenimo stilius, buvo ne tik Kubiliaus tyrinėjimo objektas, bet ir jo metodologinis skaitymo įrankis. Uždaros ir cenzūruojamos sovietmečio kultūros specifika privertė Kubilių visą literatūros istoriją suprasti kaip dialektišką alternatyvių romantizmo ir antiromantizmo krypčių kovą. Kubiliaus romantizmo interpretacijose sovietmetyje propaguotas ideologinis romantizmas neatskiriamai susiliejo su jo puoselėjamu psichologiniu romantizmu. Diskutuojama su naujausiais bandymais Kubilių priskirti vokiečių interpretacinės mokyklos tradicijai. Straipsnyje daromas skirtumas tarp psichologinės ir lingvistinės stiliaus interpretavimo tradicijų, Kubilių priskiriant prie pirmosios, labiau tradicinės „dvasios hermeneutikos“. Parodoma Kubiliaus pastanga kurti angažuotą aksiologinę kritiką kaip alternatyvą paplitusiam interpretacinės kritikos formalizmui. Metodologiniam Kubiliaus kritikos kontekstui priskiriama ne tik vokiečių dvasios kultūros mokykla, bet ir R. Welleko, R. Ingardeno, J. P. Sartre’o, M. Bachtino literatūros teorija. ENThe article considers the question of why Vytautas Kubilius was so interested in studying romantic literature and why he was interested in the tradition of romanticism and its fate in modern literature. Several answers are offered to the question raised. It is asserted that the literature of romanticism, conceived of not just as a style of writing, but also of thinking, a way of life, was for Kubilius not just an object of study, but also his methodological reading tool. The closed and censored nature of culture in the Soviet era forced Kubilius to understand the whole history of literature as dialectic warfare, involving a choice between two opposing literary directions: romanticism and anti-romanticism. The ideological romanticism that Kubilius propagated in his romantic interpretations during the Soviet era become inseparably fused with his much-desired psychological romanticism. The article discusses new attempts to assign Kubilius to the tradition of the German school of interpretation. The article distinguishes between the psychological and the linguistic traditions of interpreting style, assigning Kubilius to the former, more traditional school of “psychological hermeneutics“. It shows Kubilius’ efforts to create an engaged axiological form of criticism as an alternative to the widespread formalism of the interpretational criticism. To the methodological context of Kubilius’ form of criticism can be assigned not just the German school of psychological culture, but also the literary theories of R. Wellek, R. Ingarden, J. P. Sartre and M. Bachtin.
