ENThe article deals with one of the most important factors of pedagogue’s professional motivation, communication and collaboration, in the context of the education process. The major idea of the introduced empirical research is to generalise characteristics of communication and collaboration in music schools of Lithuania, while analysing the aspects of relationships between teacher and pupil, educator and school manager in detail. The conducted empirical research results reveal that the relation between teacher and pupil in the process of music education is obviously characteristic of manifestations of educational authoritarianism. The relationship between teachers and school managers is characterised as positive or neutral; and this is determined by demographic factors: in smaller towns collaboration of music school teachers and school managers is evaluated more positively, whereas in cities these are evaluated more negatively.
