ENGeographical information systems are described. Rapid development of both GIS and technologies gave an impetus for spatial analyses of various geographic data (spatial data) as well as of different objects related to a certain territorial unit and interaction between these units. Therefore, the application of GIS in statistics nowadays is one of the most important goals in Lithuania.
