Summary / Abstract:

ENThe Western mentality regards religiosity (praying) as foreign to the structure of thinking. This approach is rooted in its metaphysical habit of dividing mental content into subject and predicate. The best expression of this negative attitude towards religiosity is Hegel’s philosophy, in the context of which the "Aufhebung" of religiosity becomes possible, since it is not thinking but invocation. But the post-metaphysical mentality proposes a new understanding of the relation between thinking and praying, for example, Heidegger claims that thinking in its most profound characteristics resembles praying. Nevertheless, the heidegerian questioning has to be regarded not as invocation but as opening. B. Welte’s thinking as Andacht goes beyond the subject predicate division.
