ENThis article deals with the rendering of swear words. The Lithuanian swear words and their German equivalents are analysed considering their origin and socio-cultural connotations conditioned by it as well as motives for and intensity of offence. The rendition of Slavic swear words used in the Lithuanian language is problematic because the first ones are not known in German. [From the publication]
