Summary / Abstract:

ENReligion is a significant social force that contributes in shaping environmental attitudes. The aim of this study is to analyse the religiosity impact on environmental attitude, concern, knowledge and behaviour, and to evaluate the main determinants of environmentally friendly behaviour. Results show that attitude of religious and practicing young Lithuanians is characterized as more ecocentric. The results also showed that the most significant determinants of environmentally friendly behaviour are environmental concern, new ecological paradigm (NEP), environmental action related and effectiveness knowledge. Thus it is important to stimulate people‟s interest in environmental issues and to provide more information about environment.
