ENThe researcher of significant European nobles Tiškevičius (Tyszkiewicz) heritage reveals the fascinating history of an art piece from M. Tiškevičius collection. Stored at museum since 1918 the mirror primarily was donated to the King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania Augustus II, then belonged to his son King Augustus III. Purchased by M. Tiškevičius in the middle of 19th c. this mirror was used by Russian tsar Alexander II. All these personages are connected by passion for hunting. The canvas of artist A. Žametas with painted mirror gave the first inspiration of its’ provenance discovery.
