ENIn the article the author discusses lexical diversity of the native language of Russian school students in Lithuania. The author reflects upon the factors which influence the existing diversity. The active vocabulary of the students has decreased, as a result the expressiveness of their speech has become poorer. But rich active vocabulary plays an essential role in understanding of the new material, practically, in all the subjects.
