ENThe author of the present paper investigates value orientations of young people. The focus is on young people's attitude towards education. At present young people consider education as one of their priorities, only family values and material welfare are regarded as more significant. It is worth mentioning that Lithuania is one of the leading countries in the EU according to the number of students. The findings suggest that young people in Lithuania are confronted with the problems that occur as a result of the lack of motivation to study, pragmatic attitude and egoistic orientation.
