ENPolish press which develops outside Poland, particularly in the states where Poles have always lived (native communities), plays a particular role. It is an excellent tool for the integration within a group and it is perceived as a motivator to relate to the native country as well as the country of settlement. This function stems from the triad characteristics of diaspora media (native country, country of settlement and the environment of a national minority). The media integrate the recipients and support them in the face of political and social threats; they facilitate many cultural and social activities, intergroup dialogue and are a part of wider civic objectives and processes resulting from basic media roles.
