ENSocial roles of a special educator and parents and their effect on the personality development of a child with special educational needs are being analysed in this article. Lithuania has been actively pursuing and adjusting the psycho-social and legal integration and educational model of the handicapped for over 10 years. This model has been focused on the significance of psychosocial relations between the handicapped and the society. The major example of this process is the integration of the handicapped in mainstream schools. The success of integration depends not only on the inner resources of a child with special needs, but on the integrators’ and social agents’ possibilities and abilities to induct the handicapped in the society as well.
