Summary / Abstract:

ENThe State Commission of the Lithuanian Language threatens and punishes those that do not comply with its regulations in public spaces (in mass media, etc.). The commission overstates imminent threats to Lithuanian to exert its power under the guise of a language protector. We need to alter the State Language Law to make it work for the benefit of the society and positive collaboration with the language speakers.
