Summary / Abstract:

ENThis article deals with phonetic and morphological peculiarities of anthroponyms from the Gervėčiai Parish in the Vilnius district from the end of the eighteenth century through to the first half of the nineteenth century. The anthroponyms have been excerpted from the Parish Baptism Book. On the basis of this onomastic material, it is possible to state that the official forms of surnames were different from the forms which were used in the colloquial language, and the official forms of surnames had not been settled in that region.
