ENThe dissertation deals with the genre and communicative analysis of Hrodna monastery chronicles written in the second half of the 17th and 18th centuries in the monasteries of the Observants, the Discalced Carmelites, the Jesuits and the Bridgettines in Hrodna. The aim of this study is to find a proper genre description for monastery chronicles by the example of Hrodna monastery chronicles. The subject of the analysis are the following chronicles: The Chronicle of the Discalced Carmelites of Hrodna; Annual Letters and Histories of Jesuits sent to the centre of the Society of Jesus in Rome; The Chapter History of S. So Hrodna had attributes of the cultural centre and the periphery, and it had features common to various cities of Poland and Lithuania. [...].
