ENDiscovery of the world music is a topic of contemporary educology. The strategy of music education in multicultural society on examples of the European conservatoires and music academies has been chosen as an object of the research. The leading European music educology institutions are more and more influenced by the new economical and demographical realities. An influence of multicultural society varies significantly in different countries although its general importance is growing every year and expresses itself in new courses and modules. Lithuania is situated in the periphery of the mainstream tendencies but we are open to the growing needs and prepare ourselves to meet them adequately. The first step in this direction have been already done at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre when a special introductory course of the world musical cultures has been suggested to the students of Ethnomusicology and Composition specialities. New methods and modules of the world musical traditions can be integrated in the other music specialities as well. They can help students solve numerous questions arising during their integration and labour practices in multicultural societies. An introduction of newly prepared special world music courses to the BA and the MA modules of Ethnomusicology students is of highest recommendation.
