ENVolunteering is unpaid, freely chosen and focused on the task activities for the benefit of others and the organization. Voluntary activity is to provide assistance to other groups, organizations or communities, without expectations for obtaining material reward. Each volunteer activity is focused on the task - a social group, a particular person or global social problem. Voluntary activities in the sport sector strengthen social cohesion and inclusion and promote local democracy and citizenship and provide non-formal learning opportunities. Volunteers help to improve the quantity and quality of services, as well as contribute to the creative development of new services. Suitable volunteer recruitment and retention of both organizations, as well as the volunteer approach, are divided into five categories: attracting volunteers and selection, training, motivation, organization, maintenance and relationships. Volunteer training process is important not only for training volunteers, but also it enables to integrate knowledge and skills in some of the activities that require continued training to volunteers and further improvement. Volunteering individuals seek not only to develop and acquire skills, but at the same time to gain work experience in his/her career. Volunteer coordinator performs the following functions: volunteer selection, orientation, training, recognition and contracts. Effective leadership strategy also includes a commitment to keep the volunteers in the implementation of the projects or other organizations. Talented, experienced, productive and competent staff retention can be a source of competitive advantage for companies. If volunteers are more satisfied, they are more likely to use their experience to repeat volunteering and to inspire others to volunteer. The used research methods are: literature analysis, questionnaire, and mathematical analysis.Four important factors of the research outcomes could be summarized as follows: the ability to control the processes taking place in the event in which he/she is engaged in volunteering; confidence in his/her abilities of volunteer work; encouragement of interest in volunteering experience in the sports sector. All volunteers, regardless of their demographic criteria, believe that they can control the processes taking place in the event, which is engaged in volunteering. However, to avoid problems in the event, prior to the administration of certain tasks to volunteers, his/her age, sex and voluntary experience must be taken into account, because these criteria affect the volunteer’s self-confidence.
