Summary / Abstract:

ENIn the article, based on the data from study conducted in Lithuanian Education University, analysis was carried out on the topic of how different course students understand and appreciate the quality of studies and what expectations are linked to it. It showed that students understand the quality of studies differently and have different priorities. I and II course students understand the quality of studies as “suitable conditions for self-development and qualification acquisition” while fourth year students understand it as “contribution to learning and preparation for a successful career”. Higher requirements for quality of studies were raised by senior students than junior. Lower course students raised more criticism to administrative staff for lack of support for students on issues failure. Lower course students raised more criticism to administrative staff due to the lack of support for students on questions assotiated with study process issues. They also had more criticism for the lack of student awareness about university follow-updevelopment plans. The lower course students have more requirements than the higher course students in such areas: the effectiveness of the university administration, student admissions and organization for support, professional development of academic staff. The students expect more support from the university staff when adapting to studies conditions and requirements, they are not satisfied with how their personal skills are being developed during their studies, how much time teacher gives during his consultation, there is a lack of teachers impartiality and objectivity.
