ENThis paper deals with the military operations which took place in the region of Belarusian Padzvinnie during the war 1512–1522 between the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and it’s eastern neighbor the Muscovite-Russian state. It is ascertained, that the big towns of this region, such Polatsk, Viciebsk and Braslau were the most often targeted by the Muscovite voyevody (military leaders). As a military response, directed the Grand Duchy of Lithuania its troops against small or middle towns situated not far from the boarder like Velikiye Luki and Opochka in particular. As a whole, a military strategy of Moscow can be characterized as an offensive, while its enemy stood on the defensive mainly. Special attention is paid to the position to this war taken by civil urban and rural population of Northern Belarus.
