ENThe article considers main stages of formation and development of the law of municipal government in Germany, Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 16th–17th centuries. The classification of the right to the city government. On the basis of comparative legal analysis are identified the regularities and differences in the application of the Magdeburg law and other families. The content of the main monuments of the Magdeburg Law: Speculum Saxonum and Jus Municipale. Evaluated the results and meaning of the German law of municipal government in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. [From the publication]
