Apžvelgiama knygų iliustracijų akliesiems ir silpnaregiams gamybos istorija Lietuvoje. Trumpai apžvelgiama pasaulinė patirtis ir pasiekimai integruojant akluosius ir silpnaregius į dailę. Aptariami svarbiausi atradimai, kurie keičia visuomenės požiūrį į silpnaregius ir jų meninės veiklos poreikį. ENThis article introduces basic problems, which arise between how those with and without eyesight perceive art. The history of illustration for the blind and visually impaired in Lithuania is overviewed. The global experiences and achievements in integrating the blind and visually impaired into visual arts are noted. Discussed are the most important discoveries which change the public’s perception of the visually impaired and their artistic pursuits. The VTDK Graphic design department techniques in creating illustrations for the blind and visually impaired are introduced. An overview is presented of more than 50 years of Lithuanian artists, educators and other professionals’ attempts in finding the correct technology to present the visual word to the blind and visually impaired people; due to their understanding of the significance of such an activity. By the study of press technology for the blind, VTDK students create useful products for society and spread their own world outlook. [From the publication]
