ENThe paper investigates various interesting features in the historical grammar of Lithuanian and concentrates on the absence of consonant germination that was inherited from the Indo-European mother tongue. The absence of consonant germination is likely to provide the underlying reason why in the verbal form "vedi" 'you lead' the consonant -s- of the person marker *-si was lost. [From the publication]
