Summary / Abstract:

ENThe last Soviet solder left Lithuanian on August 31, 1993. One can boast that Lithuania was the first one among other Baltic states that said farewell to the Soviet army. Yet who can tell when Lithuania gave up its internal occupation – saying farewell to KGB and GRU? Could this really happen? One should not forget that totalitarianism has always relied more on secret police than its military.
