ENThe article was dedicated to a particular review of the examples of Lithuanian translations of Eliza Orzeszkowa’s prose which were published in Prussia, on the Russian Empire and USA territories in 1891-1921. The objects of the researches are Lithuanian language versions of novel Niziny (the story Vargaitiene (1891), the novel Šunadvokatis (1901) and modified version published with title Sukčiai (1921) and also dramatic rework Dumblynė (1906) and novels: W zimowy wieczór (Žiemos vakaras [1910]), Gloria victis (Hosanna! [1912]), Czy pamiętasz? (Ar atsimeni? [1910]). The analyse of comparatistic Polish-Lithuanian researches proceeded first time in history includes matters: finding actual number of prepared translations, showing accompanying the socio-historical context, the comparative estimation of translations quality and adaptations with a help from the instruments which are needed to their critical verification. The overriding goal of the scientific research will be general estimation of specification of Lithuanian translation of contemporary Polish prose process and showing the accompanying problems.
