ENAn introduction to the methods of textile care collection at the Lithuanian National Museum. This collection is comprised of 116 one-piece wooden wash batlets, 70 mangles, 62 irons, 15 washing boards and several other interesting exhibits (a felting bench, a boar tusk used for pressing collars and a sleeve seam and shoulder pressing aid). It is represented in three plates showing objects used in textile care: wash boards, batlets and mangles. These are further illustrated with exhibit drawings and photographs. Because almost all of the irons in the collection are factory-made, plates are not included. Instead, explanations about various iron shapes and forms and photographs of blacksmith-made irons are presented.
