ENThe idea of founding the Congregation of Sisters - Handmaids of Jesus in the Eucharist was bom in the heart of Bl. George Matulaitis-Matulewicz on Holy Thursday of 1919. He wanted to create a female congregation for the Church & Belarus. In 1923, he asked Fr. Andrew Cikoto to assist in the realization of this task. The article speaks of the difficult beginnings of the Congregation of the Sisters - Handmaids of Jesus in the Eucharist. It focuses on three stages, during which the Congregation was respectively under the care of Fr. Anthony Zienkiewicz, then of Fr. Andrew Cikoto, and lastly - of the bishop Romuald Jalbrzykowski.
