ENIn the article the Lithuanian thinker Vydūnas (1868-1953) is presented as the originator of the synthesis of Oriental and Occidental sacral values. The Bible and the Bhagavadgita, one of the sources of Indian Vedantic philosophy, are revealed as the key components of the synthesis, as sources, in Vydūnas view, of spiritual experience denoting the same essence of being and the man. In them the man is treated as the mouthpiece of divine power, as a sphere in which God's sacrifice for the world is manifested.
