Summary / Abstract:

ENAfter the uprising of 1863-1864, everything that witnessed the statehood of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and excited the patriotism of the people of this region was eliminated from the museums. Selected exhibits were removed from the Rumiancevo Museum in Moscow, and the rest of the collection was transferred to the redeveloped Antiquities Museum. This article is based on the previous author's publication; The present study deals with the collection of paintings of the Antiquities Museum at the VVB, which entered the Lithuanian Art Museum. Removing from the museum the portraits of Lithuanian and Polish rulers, soldiers, politicians, writers and other famous people, which formed the major part of the collection of art, the works from which the Russian-speaking exposition could be made remains very small. In 1879, in the catalog of AM with VVB, published by Flavian Dobriansky, there were 9 sculptures, 27 paintings and 16 oil painted miniatures in the exposition. About the AM in the VVB collections the Department of Manuscripts of the Vilnius University Library provides the knowledge, which is the book of exhibits donated to the museum in 1867-1914, and a catalog of the museum, which was re-published in 1885, is kept. The LDM protects the vast majority of AM at the VVB's permanent exhibition; They got into the museum in different years on the post-war years. It is argued that the AM at the VVB paintings are protected in the Lithuanian Art Museum - a small fragment of the "reformed" collection of museums allows them to get a more detailed picture not only of their nature but also of the artistic value of some of their works.
