Transition processes, security and integral European cultural space: regional development in the Baltic and other East - and Central European countries

LTNagrinėjami regioninės plėtros teoriniai pagrindai atsižvelgiant į vieningos Europos kultūrinės erdvės formavimosi aplinkybes. Detaliai analizuojami politinių, ekonominių, socialinių transformacijų procesai, būdingi Rytų ir Vidurio Europos kraštams. Aptariamos regioninės plėtos galimybės, charakteringos Baltijos regionui. Nagrinėjami konfliktai ir kitos problemos, kylančios vieningos Europos kultūrinės erdvės formavimosi sąlygomis. Publikacijoje taip pat nagrinėjamos problemos, kylančios transformacijų sąlygomis, pažymimos nacionalinio ir tarptautinio saugumo problemos, būdingos įvairiems regionams ir kraštams Rytų ir Vidurio Europoje. Ypatingas dėmesys yra skiriamas regioninei ekonominei ir socialinei raida. Baltijos šalyse viemngos Europos politinės, ekonominės, kultūrinės ir socialinės erdvės formavimosi aplinkybėmis.

ENThe purpose of this paper is to examine the theoretical background to the regional economic and social development in the context of development of integral European cultural space. The main trends and tendencies of the economic, political, social transition processes in the Eastern and Central Europe are analysed. Possibilities and prospects of the regional economic and social development in the Baltic region are discussed. Problems and conflicts arising in the situation of the development of the integral cultural space in Europe are described. The publication also presents the outcomes of the research done over the recent several years, dedicated to the diagnostics of the problem of transformations as well as of national and international security in various regions and countries of Central and Eastern Europe, especially in Baltic countries. The main attention is dedicated to the regional economic and social development in the Baltic countries in context of the integral European cultural, political, economic and social space.
