Impact of political risks on some economic issues in CEECs

LTStraipsnyje analizuojamos problemos, susijusios su verslo politine rizika, tiesioginėmis užsienio investicijomis, privatizavimu. Pateikiama politinės aplinkos Vidurio ir Rytų Europoje analizė. Daugelio Šio regiono šalių politiniam ir ekonominiam klimatui vis dar daro įtakai Rusija, tačiau su tuo susijusi verslo rizika mažėja, nes šalys persitvarko ruošdamosios stoti į Europos Sąjungą. Vidurio ir Rytų Europos valstybės taip pat turėtų sudaryti vienodas sąlygas vietiniams it užsienio verslo subjektams. Vis dėlto neigiamą įtaką daro nemažėjantys korupcijos mastai ir netobuli įstatymai. Dėl dažnos įstatymų if politinės orientacijos kaitos daugelyje Vidurio ir Rytų Europos šalių politinė ir ekonominė aplinka verslui yra nepalanki.

ENThe dissolution of the former Soviet Union (SU) into autonomous or independent republics creates two problems during a transitional period. One is that although the new republics may possess all the political attributes of independence, some may not be able to function effectively as independent economic units, either because of the absence of raw materials or the inability to access foreign markets or markets within the other republics. For this and for other reasons most of CEE republics are putting their best effort to integrate themselves into European Union and NATO. The reason of course is not only economical, but rather political. The integration of the republics into EU and NATO would secure their future especially having in mind the relations with Russia, which might be difficult to predict. The other issues closely related to business risks, are corruption, bribery and incompetent state management. All these political factors are very active in CEECs, and they can be very risky for foreign capital.
