Lietuvos autorių skulptūros Biržų erdvėse
LTBiržų miestas gali iš tikrųjų pasigirti paminklų, portretinių biustų gausa. Rimtai galima teigti, kad nuo pat XX a. pradžios buvo ką vaizduoti, ką pagerbti, kieno nuopelnus tiek Biržų kraštui, tiek ir visai Lietuvai priminti: aušrininkas Stanislovas Dagilis, kunigaikštis Jonušas Radvila, žuvusieji už nepriklausomą Lietuvą, pirmasis Lietuvos prezidentas Antanas Smetona, „svieto lygintojas“ poetas Julius Janonis, naujai 1918 metais atsikūrusios Lietuvos valstybės veikėjai broliai Martynas ir Jonas Yčai. Taip žinomų Lietuvos autorių darbuose pro biržiečius bei miesto svečius ir praslenka visas XX amžius, kupinas įvykių, revoliucijų ir neramumų, kupinas asmenybių žavesio ir veiklos, kupinas kūrybos, ieškojimų ir atradimų. ENThe town of Biržai really can boast an abundance of monuments and portrait busts. It’s possible to seriously ascertain, that, from the beginning of the 20th century there were topics to represent, people to honor, those persons of merit not only in relation to the Biržai region, but to the whole of Lithuania as well: a member of "Aušra" ("Dawn") movement Stanislovas Dagilis; duke Jonušas Radvila; those who died for Independent Lithuania; the first Lithuanian president Antanas Smetona; "the equalizer" poet Julius Janonis; in 1918, newly regenerated, Lithuanian government officials brothers Martynas and Jonas Yčas. In-between well known Lithuanian artists ’ work in the eyes of the locals and the guests of the town, the whole 20th century passes by; full of events, revolutions and unrests, full of the charm of the personalities and activities, full of creativity, search and discovery. These monuments are overviewed by the museologist Antanas Seibutis.
