ENThe history of the organ of the Viekšniai church is quite long and spans almost 300 years. At the beginning, a positive with several voices was used for making music; from the 19th century a thirteen-voice organ was used for a hundred years, and in the 20th century a new Romanticist style instrument was acquired. Unfortunately, the Viekšniai organs continuously suffered from fires: the great organ burned down in 1915, and the organ dismantled in great hurry during a fire in 1939 had to be thoroughly repaired. The currently used organ, made by K. Skerstens and boked after by local organists, though typical and mass-produced, is suitable not only for accompanying the liturgy and the choir, but also for a quite diverse Romanticist solo repertoire.
