Sugrįžusi žydų atmintis : vaizdinės reprezentacijos formos

LTStraipsnyje aptariamas žydų istorinės ir kultūrinės atminties sugrįžimas XX a. pabaigoje, Lietuvai atgavus valstybinę nepriklausomybę. Platesniuose teoriniame ir istoriniame kontekstuose tyrinėjamos žydų atminties sugrįžimo aplinkybės, Holokausto nutylėjimo politikos nutraukimas ir įsisąmoninimo procesas. Nuosekliai analizuojami žydų istorijos ir tragedijos įamžinimo būdai: memorialinės vietos, paminklai, muziejų ekspozicijos ir kitos vizualinės reprezentacijos formos. Memorialinės vietos ir muziejai atlieka svarbų vaidmenį formuojant kolektyvinę atmintį, todėl analizuojamas ekspozicijų pobūdis ir nereprezentacionalumo matmuo. Svarstoma apie miestovaizdžio, vietos dvasios svarbą istorinės atminties rekonstravimo procese. Taip pat aptariami miesto simbolinį audinį kuriantys paminklai ir atminimo lentos; gvildenama antipaminklo koncepcija ir galimybė kurti didesnį visuomenės aktyvumą bei asmeninį refleksyvumą skatinančias prisiminimo formas. Šiuolaikinės visuomenės savivokai didelį poveikį daro audiovizualinė komunikacija, todėl straipsnyje plačiau aptariami žydišką tematiką ir Holokausto istoriją atskleidžiantys dokumentiniai ir meniniai filmai. Nusakomas kūryboje ryškėjantis siekis atskleisti asmenines patirtis, vidines išgyvenimų dimensijas, apmąstyti skaudžios patirties ištakas, bandoma suvokti, kaip ji suvokiama šiandien. Istorija perkeliama į deformalizuotą žmogiškos būties laiką, kuriame asmeninės istorijos ir patirties konkretybė nusako nereprezentuojamus dalykus. ENThe goal of the article is to discuss the reemergence of Jewish history and cultural memory in Lithuania just before its independence in the last decade of the twentieth century and to the present day. Important socio-cultural changes such as the ending of Holocaust denial and the rising awareness of the complex history of Jews in Lithuania are explored in broader theoretical and historical contexts. An analysis is undertaken of the process of memorialization and the actual forms of memorials: memorial sites, monuments, museums, expositions, and other forms of visual representation. Since memorial sites and museums play an important role in the shaping of collective memory it is essential to discuss the boundaries and interactions between the visual nature of expositions and the dimension of the unrepresentable. Monuments that have been created to shape a cultural landscape are distinguished from anti-monuments that have been designed to foster individual participation in the processes of remembrance and self-reflection. Audiovisual communication yields a immense degree of influence on contemporary society and therefore plays an essential role in advancing a deeper understanding of Jewish history and the Holocaust.As a result, the article reviews the salient Lithuanian documentaries and fiction movies featuring Jewish plots. It also explores diverse artistic approaches to the Holocaust in their representation of personal, often times very painful, Jewish facts and the possibility of reliving and reenacting them today. The literary and theatrical representations of Jewish history in present-day Lithuania reach into deformalized human temporality wherein personal histories and individual experiences constitute an attempt to represent the unrepresentable.
