ENAndrey Lyubyj, Tatar „war" of the Polotsk Prince Andrew Olgerdovich The article discusses the biography of the Polotsk Prince Andrew Olgerdovich (1320-ies - 1399) through the prism of three military campaigns against the Tatars (1378, 1380, 1399) and their role in creating of the literary image of the knight. All military campaigns against the Tatars belong to the stage of the political activity of Prince Andrew after his father s death - Grand Duke Algirdas. They are associated with the loss in 1370-80s of the Polotsk region in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and certain political status in the state during the direct reign in GDL Jagiełło and Skirgaylo. The Polotsk Prince Andrew cook the active part in the holy war of Christianity against the infidels. Certainly during the campaign against the Tatars in 1399 Prince died/was killed.
