Summary / Abstract:

ENDanutė Ona Žilienė in her article "A Conception of Man in Waldorf's Pedagogy" surveys philosophical essentials of R. Seiner's pedagogy. According to the authoress, R. Steiner's book.A Child's Training In Respect Of Soul Science" has revealed human mysteries. It gives an analysis not only of such material thing as physical body, but also discusses ethereal body (an expression of energy), astral body (mental substance), ego body (divine spring in a human). According to the authoress, through description of human entity (four human bodies), R. Steiner, as Lithuanian oracle Vydūnas, revealed a non-conventional attitude towards a Man, expanded its concept. It is especially significant that R. Steiner moved this philosophical problem towards pedagogics and showed when two separate human bodies are born, how they develop in certain phases of human age (every seven years), how they should be cultivated. R. Steiner converts all these things into an axis of training. The above mentioned R. Steiner's book reveals a significant principle of Waldorf's pedagogics: to train a child means affect all four parts of his human essence.
